PRE-ASSESSMENT READINESS TOOL (PART) - PILOT

*** IMPORTANT PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU BEGIN THE ONLINE PART PILOT ***

Thank you for participating in the PART pilot.

Purpose of the PART pilot:
The sole purpose of the PART pilot is to collect statistics on the questions to determine the validity of each question.

Who will see my applicant information and responses?
Your applicant information and pilot responses will be sent to Wickett Measurement Systems for the sole purpose of statistical analysis.   Your applicant information and pilot responses will not be shared with your provincial regulatory board and you will not receive any feedback on your results.  Your name will be shared with your provincial regulatory board solely for the purpose of receiving your CE credit/hours

How many CE credits/hours will I receive for participating?
Participants in all provinces, with the exception of Ontario, will be awarded 4EC credits for participating in the pilot.  Ontario opticians can earn 2 hours of non-accredited self-directed learning towards their continuing education portfolio.  All participants will have their name entered into the draw for $250.00.

How do I get my CE credits/hours?
NACOR will provide each regulatory board with a list of pilot participants from their province and they will award your credits/hours based on this list.   You will not receive a continuing education credit slip from NACOR.

How do I know if my answer were submitted to NACOR?
You will receive a confirmation email from NACOR within 24 hours confirming that we received your responses.  If you complete the test during the weekend you will receive a confirmation email by the end of business day on Monday.

What types of questions are on the PART pilot forms?
There are two forms that you can choose from.  Both forms contain 100 multiple-choice questions.  Form A is composed mainly of eyeglasses questions and Form B is composed mainly of contact lenses, low vision and refracting questions.

Can I complete both tests?
You may complete both tests.  You will receive credits/hours and have your name entered into the draw for each test you complete.

Do I have to be licensed in contact lenses or refracting to complete Form B
You do not have to be licensed in contact lenses or refracting to complete Form B.  If you have experience or knowledge in either of these areas you can complete Form B.

How long is the pilot test?
You will be given 2 hours to complete the pilot and you must complete it in one sitting. You cannot start the pilot and return to it later and the clock cannot be stopped once started.

How do I start the test?
Click on the link below for the test form that you wish to complete.  Complete the applicant information section and then continue onto the test page.  You must answer each question in order for your responses to be submitted.   If you are unsure of an answer use your best judgment to answer the question.

What if I want to change an answer?
If you need to return to a question, click on the Section 1, Section 2, Section 3 or Section 4 tabs located at the top of the test page.  Do Not Use Your Browser's Back Button.  Using the back browser will result in your answers not being submitted.
